The Fort Vancouver Tapestry is a surface design embroidered wool-on-linen textile narrative of the history of Clark County, Washington. It was completed over a six-year period (1999-2005) with more than 100,000 hours of volunteer effort. It weighs roughly 60 pounds, measures 108 feet long and covers 200 years of regional southwest Washington history. The Tapestry has been on display across the state of Washington and in Japan. The Tapestry was stitched by 57 of the region's finest stitchers and joined on two occasions by 12 visiting stitchers from Joyo, Japan. Presented by Fort Vancouver Tapestry Project.
